Ventech Solutions, an Ohio-based healthcare software company, announced plans Tuesday to establish a $1.5 million IT center in the Manassas area, bringing 200 high-paying jobs to Prince William County.
Ventech operates in a 23,392-square-foot facility at 10110 Battleview Parkway in Manassas.
Gov. Terry McAuliffe hailed the announcement as a major step in building a “new, high-tech Virginia economy.”
“We have the assets and the infrastructure, and with the help of strong corporate partners like Ventech Solutions continuing to expand the company’s footprint into the commonwealth, I am confident we will be the cyber capital of America,” McAuliffe said in a statement.
The Prince William Board of Supervisors on Tuesday committed $50,000 from the county’s Economic Development Opportunity Fund to encourage Ventech’s move. Virginia competed against Maryland and other states for the project.
In exchange for the investment, Ventech has agreed to create 200 jobs, with an average wage of $80,000, and invest $1 million in capital investment over a three-year period, county officials said in a news release.
“It was important for Ventech to establish a strong presence in the national capital region, at the center of a growing healthcare IT industry with access to a highly-skilled workforce and talent pipeline,” said Herb Jones, CEO, Ventech Solutions Inc. “Prince William County delivers all the requirements that a growing Inc. 5000 company needs to fulfill major mission-critical programs that are of national importance.”
Ventech Solutions focuses on creating “next-generation IT competitive advantages and leading transformational business initiatives,” according to the release.
Ventech’s clients span 14 states, with physical presences in Ohio, New Mexico, Washington D.C., Virginia and Louisiana.
“We’re delighted to welcome Ventech to Prince William County and to our growing IT business community,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart said. “The addition of 200 new jobs at an average salary of $80,000 a year is a great example of the type of jobs we are attracting in Prince William County.”
